Sunset Dog Walk

Spotted this chap walking his dog at sunset in the Sahara desert, Morocco, whilst a camel caravan travelled along in the distance. The dog was fascinated, as was I, for camels are awesome. Awesome and they sound a bit like the sand people from Star Wars. Fact.

Paper Windmills and Moustaches on Sticks

Beautiful, fun, brilliantly different and elegantly simple is how I would describe my first wedding of the season. With a vintage theme, moustaches on sticks and paper windmills to keep the guests entertained, I knew that it would be a day to remember.

The ceremony took place at the conservatory in the stunning surroundings of the Horniman museum gardens. It turned out to be the ideal venue to shoot in with lovely soft light coming in from all angles.

Emma you looked beautiful!

The details were well thought out from the fantastic vintage brooch bouquet…

…to the car that whisked them away.

The ceremony was followed by wedding breakfast at the atmospheric East Dulwich Tavern with possibly the funniest best mans speech I’ve ever heard…

…and the most mouth watering wedding cake!

Congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs G and thanks again for including me in your most special of days!

Magic Rainbow Eye!

This is what happens when you leave a CD upside down in a sunbeam in a loft room with slanty ceilings. Magic!

Angel Sheep

I love this image.

I love the look on the sheeps face, its ethereal glow, its solitude and the warmth of the field at sunset.

I had only a split second to capture this shot. I knew that the settings on my camera meant that it would overexpose, but I didn’t have time to change anything. Sometimes imperfectly capturing the moment is more important than perfectly missing it.

Photo of the day: Lost Robot

One day Rob needed a picture of a robot for one of his blog posts on ‘finding time for your creativity’. Out of that shoot came this image. Poor Mr D.J. looked so lost. Aww!

Photo of the day: Welsh sunset

Snowdonia, May 2009. The sunset was too beautiful to resist. At the time I wanted to be the other side of the tree, but a fence and ditch got in the way of that one. Looking back, I’m glad I took the shot anyway.

Photo of the day: Alpine sunrise

Watching the sun rise over the Alps was always the most beautiful part of the day. This was captured one chilly January morning in 2011 in La Rosiere, France.
